As a board-certified South Carolina plastic surgeon, Dr. C. Brett Carlin has been practicing state-of-the-art cosmetic plastic surgery in Columbia since 1998. His practice is limited to aesthetic surgery of the face, breast, and body.
By narrowing his practice in scope, he can offer his patients truly superior care and expertise. “Our specialty encompasses a very broad spectrum. If you only do a few cases of a specific procedure each year, you never really gain meaningful experience or expertise with it. It is hard to be proficient in all aspects of plastic surgery. Dr. C. Brett Carlin practices aesthetic and reconstructive plastic surgery in Columbia, South Carolina with more than 20 years of experience. He has completed residencies in both General Surgery and Plastic Surgery.
He received Board Certification from the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Plastic Surgery, representing one of the few surgeons to possess dual board certification. He has subsequently completed re-certification through the American Board of Plastic Surgery, to ensure he remains current with emerging techniques and technology.

A Columbia native, Dr. Carlin graduated cum laude in Chemistry from Clemson University and spent four years at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. His General Surgery residency took him to Birmingham, Alabama, and he completed a three-year Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery fellowship at Duke University Medical Center.
